Bruker Nano, one of Bruker's four operating segments, provides customers in academic and governmental institutions, life science, materials, and applied industries with the tools to determine the characteristics of matter and visualize the structure of molecules. Divisions within BNANO include Bruker AXS, Bruker Nano Analytics, Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology, Fluorescence Microscopy, and Canopy.

We are currently searching for a Production Technician to help us enable scientists to make breakthrough discoveries and develop new applications that improve the quality of human life! As a Production Technician, you'll work in our production department with a team of technicians and engineers responsible for manufacturing the Hysitron product line of instrumentation.

Open to any level of experience, this position offers the opportunity gain hand-on skill with cutting edge technology and opens the door to an exciting future in mechanics and engineering. Under the appropriate guidance, you will be responsible for building electro-mechanical components and devices that are used in our line of nanoindentation products. You will have opportunities to work with advanced scientific tools including atomic force microscopes and the Hysitron scanning probe nanomechanical test systems.

Work at Bruker Nano in a production environment together with a team of technicians and engineers responsible for manufacturing the Hysitron product line of instrumentation. This position is responsible for assembly of precision electro-mechanical components and will present opportunities to explore your curiosity while working with advanced scientific tools including atomic force microscopes and the Hysitron scanning probe nanomechanical test systems.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Assembly of electro-mechanical components and devices working under general supervision
  • Point to point wiring with fine gage wire and PCB soldering
  • Use test equipment to assure quality
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, policy and regulations
  • Contributes to team objectives and expectations to accomplishing assigned work according to the production schedule
  • Additional responsibility will be tailored to fit the individuals experience and ability

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General knowledge and understanding of Hysitron product line
  • Ability to work with members of management and other employees in a professional manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work independently with supervisor's and trainer's guidance
  • Experience hand soldering SMT, thru-hole and fine gauge wire (32 gauge or smaller) or an equivalent technical skill is preferred. Precision modeling, crafting, or other experience/hobbies working with small parts may be an acceptable substitute
  • Relevant experience with precision assembly of electrical and/or electro-mechanical devices
  • Ability to follow and understand assembly procedures, circuit schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and an ability to work with a microscope to manipulate and assemble small electrical and mechanical components which are elements of complicated devices.
  • Use of hand and power tools may be required
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance is required

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2 years of experience in a precision manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology or equivalent program is preferred

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $37,350 and $66,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
