Test Engineer

The Opportunity:

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development, and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.

As a Test Engineer on our team, you'll recommend testing methodologies, prepare test plans, and preparetest procedures and test cases based on specific requirements. You'll conduct various system tests, including integration, systems, and regression, document and present test results, perform system validation and verification, and work withdevelopers through all phases of the system lifecycle to clarify requirements and ensuretestability. You will estimate resource needs for testing tasks forinput into project plans.

Work with us as we develop a software solution to protect our nation's infrastructure. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience with bug tracking software such as Bugzilla

  • 4+ years of experience with basic network concepts

  • 4+ years of experience developing or testing software written in programming languages such as Python

  • 4+ years of experience testing software on Linux

  • 2+ years of experience in a lead test role

  • HS diploma or GED and 8+ years of experience preparing, conducting, and documentingvarious systems tests and results to verify system operability and compliance withproject standards and requirements, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 4+ years of experience preparing, conducting, and documentingvarious systems tests and results to verify system operability and compliance withproject standards and requirements, OR Master's degree in Computer Science,Computer Engineering, or Information Systems and 2+ years of experience preparing, conducting, and documentingvarious systems tests and results to verify system operability and compliance withproject standards and requirements

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with Gitlab

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
