Position Description:

The Therapist is responsible for diagnosing and treating individuals with mental health issues, employing various therapeutic techniques to promote emotional well-being and personal growth.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Implements goals and objectives for residents/patients based on the established program philosophy and resident/patient treatment plan
  • Provides individual guidance and direction designed to help residents/patients meet the goals in their treatment plan
  • Maintains high quality of documentation of all casework consistent with facility policies
  • Provides case management services.
  • Maintains code of employer/employee relations.
  • Ensure Service Excellence delivery.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social science, such as counseling, psychology, or social work required.
  • Two or more years' experience in a mental health setting working with children and/or adolescents is preferred.
  • Needs basic understanding of and comfort level with medical terminology, residential treatment, clinical science/pathology and psychiatric disorders.
  • Must know how to gather and analyze data. Must be articulate, assertive, and able to communicate effectively with families, payers, therapists and physicians both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to acquire clear understanding of treatment priorities and ability to make sound decisions balancing resident and family needs with available resources.
  • Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).

Physical requirements:

The physical requirements for this position include being able to stand, squat, kneel, sit, and lie on the floor for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. of weight. Must be able to climb, run and walk for long periods of time as well. Must be able to lift 50lbs of weight. Must be able to read, write clearly, talk and listen. Able to verbally de-escalate and physically restrain patients/residents when necessary.
