Salary: $42-46.67 Hourly W2, hourly, with benefits
We are seeking an Apparel Technical Designer (known internally as Product Development Engineer II) to support the technical design and development of apparel from concept through commercialization for our client, a globally recognized leader in the footwear and apparel industry. You will play a critical part in ensuring product fit, construction, and quality meet performance and consumer expectations. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in garment construction, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Location & Schedule
On-site with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite / Fridays from home) Experience Level
2-4+ years of experience in technical design or apparel product development
Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Textile Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) What You'll Do
- Support the development of apparel styles from initial concept through production
- Participate in fit sessions, take detailed notes, and help identify and communicate fit and construction issues
- Interpret design intent and translate it into technical specifications and execution
- Assist in creating and updating tech packs, product specs, and construction details
- Track prototypes and support the product development lifecycle to ensure timelines are met
- Collaborate with design, product management, materials, and manufacturing partners
- Maintain strong organization across multiple styles and deadlines
- Stay informed on market trends, new technologies, and consumer needs throughout the development process
What You Bring
- Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and apparel development processes
- Experience supporting fit sessions and working with technical specifications
- Experience supporting fit sessions and updating specs
- Ability to interpret and uphold design intent into technical execution
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with CAD, CLO 3D, Optitex, or similar digital design tools
- Familiarity with pattern grading, markers, and apparel manufacturing processes
- Experience working on performance or athletic apparel
- Exposure to product creation tools or systems, such as PCX
