HDR is looking for a Site Civil Engineering Team Manager for our Charleston Building Engineering Services Team. This individual will be expected to be a senior leader and mentor within our Site Civil Engineering Design Group. They will be responsible for managing a design production team of 3 to 5 Civil Design staff. On a day-to-day basis, they'll also be expected to:
- Manage workflow and utilization, mentor and develop staff, forecast and schedule work, perform quality control, and foster a team environment.
- Build team technical expertise and design production capacity through recruitment, staff development and training.
- Function as a technical lead on site development projects, coordinate with other disciplines across HDR, and lead the development of construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction.
- Participate in leadership for technical service functions and support the development of HDR services in site civil planning and design.
- Direct involvement with external clients as well as internal project managers, market sector leads, business group managers, and other leaders throughout HDR.
- Prepare site civil proposals including scope development and estimating hours/fee.
- Help implement, monitor, and support company policies.
- Some regional/national travel will be expected.
Preferred Qualifications
- PE License Required
- Strong operating knowledge of Civil 3D
- Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 7 years experience
- Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
