Summary of Job Duties:The Extra Help Assistant is responsible for providing unskilled, semi-skilled labor or performing basic office tasks in a state agency or institution. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Some college experience

Job Duties:

  • Receiving payments for late or overdue items or for paper usage;
  • Checking items in and out as needed;
  • Providing directions for locations within the library;
  • Answering in-person and phone call questions relating to the library;
  • Opening or closing the library when necessary;
  • Shelving materials and maintaining stacks.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Customer service skills;
  • Written and oral communication skills;
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Google Workspace;
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform detailed work;
  • Aptitude for learning technology;
  • Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment;
  • Ability to reach, stoop, and bend for retrieval of items.

This position is located at the William H. Bowen School of Law campus.
