THE POSITION

The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is looking for a dedicated Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker to support the care and upkeep of our park facilities and grounds. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support the daily upkeep and maintenance of the State Park Complex at French Creek and Marsh Creek. The work covers grounds care, building maintenance, equipment support, and assistance to skilled staff across many trades. As a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:

  • Grounds Maintenance: Carry out mowing, trimming, litter collection, digging, cleaning of drains and culverts, and upkeep of turf, trees, and shrubs
  • Building Care: Clean restrooms, offices, cabins, and other buildings while completing minor repairs and supplying facilities
  • Skilled Work Support: Assist skilled workers with tasks related to water systems, sewage systems, swimming pools, carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and cement work
  • Equipment Servicing: Help maintain vehicles and equipment by assisting with lubrication, basic adjustments, and routine servicing
  • Safety Practices: Follow all safety regulations, use safe work methods, and report hazards or accidents promptly
  • Visitor Assistance: Provide helpful information to park visitors and demonstrate courteous, positive communication

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027.
  • Typical work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Shifts and hours will vary including weekends and holidays. Will work 5 of 7 days/37.5 hours per week.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
