Job Description

Position Summary

The Business Manager III plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations and long-term stability of the unit. This position provides comprehensive oversight of financial, human resources, and administrative functions while ensuring alignment with divisional goals and university policies. The role serves as a key resource for leadership, staff, and stakeholders by delivering accurate data, clear guidance, and effective coordination of operational processes.

Key Responsibilities Financial Management
  • Oversee financial operations, including expense approvals, account management, and regular financial reviews.
  • Ensure all expenditures align with divisional priorities and university policies and procedures.
  • Support budget development and monitoring by aligning revenue with strategic priorities, projecting expenses, and tracking financial performance.
  • Communicate budget decisions and financial expectations clearly across the unit to promote transparency and accountability.
Data Management and Reporting
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support informed decision-making.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely reports.
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with institutional reporting standards.
Human Resources Support
  • Partner with CAFNR's Associate Director of HR on employee relations matters, performance concerns, and compliance issues; escalate and refer matters as appropriate.
  • Oversee unit's time and labor processing to ensure accuracy and adherence to university policy.
  • Reinforce HR policies and best practices by directing unit supervisors and staff to appropriate HR resources and collaborating with the Associate Director HR on consistent application.
Operational and Administrative Support
  • Provide guidance on navigating university systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure smooth coordination of administrative processes across the division.
  • Other duties as needed.
Divisional Coordination and Policy Support
  • Promote consistency and clarity at the divisional level by reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and facilitate trainings to ensure staff are informed and compliant.
  • Support effective communication and dissemination of important information across the division.
Shift

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $60,944.00 - $85,000 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
