Position Summary/Department Summary:
We are currently seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapist for our Pediatric Pain Program & Young Adult Pain Program. Be a part of our inter-disciplinary team and provide high-quality, rehabilitation for our pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs complex diagnostic evaluations upon referral and in accordance with departmental and professional guidelines and standards.
  • Establishes treatment goals and administers appropriate occupational therapy procedures and modalities. Prepares discharge plans and home treatment programs. Provides education to patients and families.
  • Monitors treatment outcomes, modifying program as needed and communicating recommendations to physicians and other providers.
  • Designs, fabricates and/or recommends orthotics, adaptive/assistive equipment and technology for patients, including those with complex, rare or multiple dysfunctions. Integrates knowledge into clinical decision making in order to meet specific treatment objectives.
  • Trains patients, families and/or caretakers in use/operation of prescribed orthotics/equipment, monitors and evaluates effectiveness and initiates modifications as needed. Records assessments, diagnoses and treatment in patient medical record according to established documentation standards.
  • Plans learning objectives and arranges related clinical experiences. Monitors performance provides guidance and feedback and prepares and conducts student evaluations. May participate in departmental training and staff development program.
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
Experience:
  • Minimum one to two years of previous OT experience, pediatric hospital based preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
  • Occupational Therapist licensure in the state of MA
This candidate MUST be able and available to train and orient during weekdays

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
