Summary:

NRG is seeking a Financial Operations Analyst on the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) team, who is passionate aboutfacilitating,developingand enhancing products and solutions that provide load flexibility to the Grid. This position requires an analytical, organized, structured, detail-oriented, curious,creativeand proactive candidate.This person willdeterminewhat needs to be done to turn VPP performance data into actionable insights that drive the strategy, growth, and direction of NRG's load flexibility program in Texas.

The ideal candidate will easily fit into a fast-paced, dynamic, creative team driven to accelerate the future of retail electricity growth.The Virtual Power Plant (VPP) team is at the core of this company's growth and provides visibility in a great environment to develop a cross-functional skillset in a new and developing area of the electricity industry.This position will interactacrossFinance, IT, Data Science, Product and with our Smart Home Partners at Vivint.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Build a deep understanding of the market landscape; create reporting and analytical frameworks to generate actionable insights from VPP enrollment, maintenance, and performance data.

  • Analyze portfolio performance toidentifytrends, key drivers, risks, and growth opportunities.

  • Develop andmaintainan integrated view of core performance metrics across the active VPP product portfolio.

  • Conduct research and generate insights, use-cases, and industry analyses to address potential future opportunities.

  • Leverage AI-powered tools and analytics platforms to connect data points, generate deeperinsightsand automate routine analysis where possible

  • Support forecasting, scenariomodelingand strategic business reviews byutilizingadvanced analytics techniques

  • Providein depthanalysis with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions, and influence strategic product portfolio decisions.

  • Identifyand communicate risk and impacts of proposed solutions along with risk mitigation options considering business implications of the application of the product concept.

  • Provide support on requested tasks, organize tasks, communicate and proactively report performance and develop next steps.

  • Understandfinancialimpacts of partner agreements and ensure payments areaccuratebetween NRG and our partners.

  • Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment with frequent collaboration within and acrossteam.

  • Hybrid work environment with 4 days per week in officeand1days remote.

MinimumRequirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, DataAnalyticsor a related field

  • 2-4 years of experience in business analytics, productmanagementor finance experience, preferable in the consumer-facing products,salesor financial services industry

  • Proficiencyin Excel, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI); AI modeling tools are a plus

  • Proven ability to generate ideas and propose data-driven solutions that drive business improvements.

  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data findings into clear business narratives and strategic recommendations.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment withhigh levelsof ambiguity; adaptable andflexible inapproach.

  • Proven ability to generate ideas and propose data-driven solutions that drive business improvements.

  • Ability to think creatively, discover new perspectives or ways to present products, and problem-solve.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, includingabilityto communicate ideas in email, PowerPoint, and Excel.Communicates proactively and follows up as needed.

  • Detail oriented and able to produceaccuratework products under rapidly changing priorities.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and drive projects forward.

  • Self-starter and self-driven,drives forresults with a get-things-done attitude.

  • Ability to highlight issues early and proactively, involving the right stakeholders, and highlight a point of view on a resolution.

  • Desire to build products from scratch which do not currently exist in the market.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

  • Ability toestablishrelationships across the organization to learn how everything works and to get things done.

Physical Requirements:

Majorityof work is performed on a computer in a seated position.
