Overview

Carle Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Inpatient Hospital ICU team at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.

Opportunity Details

  • Join a collaborative, multidisciplinary Critical Care team consisting of 6 Critical Care Physicians and 3 Advanced Practice Providers at Carle Health Methodist Hospital.
  • Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients in a multidisciplinary ICU environment, including admissions and H&Ps, daily management, progress notes, consults, care coordination, transfers, and discharge planning.
  • Work closely with Critical Care physicians and a broad network of specialty consultants to deliver evidence-based critical care.
  • Practice in a combined 24-bed ICU environment, including a 12-bed Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) and 12-bed Medical/Surgical ICU.
  • Typical APP patient census averages approximately 6-8 patients per shift, consisting of a mix of new admissions and established ICU patients.
  • Perform bedside procedures with physician support and mentorship. Procedures may include arterial line placement, central venous catheter insertion, dialysis catheter placement, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and airway management support.
  • Comprehensive onboarding and procedural training provided, including a structured orientation program lasting several months with progressive autonomy based on experience and competency.
  • Collaborative practice environment with strong physician presence, nursing support, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and ancillary staff dedicated to critical care patients.
  • Flexible scheduling with a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Competitive compensation package with up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
Education Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing with Acute Care specialty (ACNP, AGACNP) or Physician Assistant.
  • Prior critical care, acute care, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or related clinical experience preferred.
  • New graduate candidates with significant critical care clinical training, ICU rotations, or strong interest in Critical Care Medicine are encouraged to apply.
Licensure/Certification Requirements
  • Current Illinois Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license or Physician Assistant license.
  • Current national certification appropriate to training and specialty.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $60.72 - $78.94/hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
