Job Duties: Associate, Banker - Industry/Country Coverage with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Structures, analyzes and executes transactions on behalf of companies in the natural resources sector. Reviews proprietary financial models, such as M&A, DCF, and LBO valuations in the natural resources sector. Helps senior team evaluate models to develop key judgments. Analyzes accounting and regulatory statements, debt and equity filings and documents, financial projections and models as prepared in various formats by clients. Supervises, guides and coordinates junior professionals' work product, including reviewing financial modeling work and presentations prepared for transactions, corporate board meetings, investment banking pitches and client service projects on corporate finance topics; supervises and reviews memoranda required to gain internal approvals from typical investment banking committees. Interacts with senior management on a daily basis to execute projects, provide updates and advice and prepare presentation materials. Manages live deal execution in the natural resources sector, including running due diligence processes, negotiating non-disclosure agreements and other legal documents with lawyers and potential buyers, organizing and attending deal and non-deal roadshows and liaising other investment banks and other parties. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include two (2) years with the following: building and reviewing financial models in Excel or related spreadsheet tools, including analyzing and manipulating data using pivot tables and conducting sensitivity analyses; maintaining working knowledge and overseeing projects within in the Natural Resources sector, including Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Infrastructure sectors; managing and coordinating multiple work streams with senior managers or various product experts across the company; developing client relationships including preparing materials tailored to client needs and strategic goals and providing technical support. Interacting with clients in a manner that promotes continued engagement in future projects; interpreting data to develop presentations and present to senior managers on business related topics related to corporate strategy, financial results, and operational targets; and preparing project proposal materials to aid in deal origination by utilizing valuation analyses and risk/returns dynamics. Up to 10% domestic or international required for business meetings. All travel expenses paid by the firm.
