Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and may be assigned to any Consumers Energy Service Center located throughout Michigan's lower Peninsula. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Training Program Manager will be responsible for the oversight of projects supporting the function of training Learning & Development programs across the company including managing of special projects, collection of information for components that need to be built into training programs, partnering with key stakeholders in developing program specific materials as well as partnering with outside stakeholders. The Training Program Manager will use project management tools to guide projects from start to closeout, as well as helping hold responsible partners to deadlines to ensure success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize multiple complex and cross-functional projects to support training and education programs across the company while staying within budget and meeting deadlines. (Standards Work adoption, Software adoption projects, etc.)
  • Support a lean mindset throughout the organization by using Lean methodology and principles. This includes finding and solving problems and contributing to customer affordability and our company's financial performance by seeking out efficient and effective department processes.
  • Execute accurate document management.
  • Analyze and transform data into actionable metrics for making informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal customers, internal stakeholders, and external customers to identify learning needs, align training programs with business objectives, and ensure buy-in and support for learning initiatives. Act as a liaison to communicate information between key stakeholders and L&D.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay updated with the latest educational practices, technology and trends to enhance the learning experiences. Partner with other L&D coworkers for coaching and learning opportunities to improve cross-functional abilities within L&D.
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal customers, internal stakeholders, and external customers.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools is essential. This includes skills in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management, and quality assurance.
  • Able to adapt to changing circumstances and requirements as project priorities and objectives evolve over time.
  • Knowledge of Lean practices and methods.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines, manage multiple responsibilities, and multiple projects.
  • Strong documentation skills to maintain project records, track progress, and report on project status and outcomes
  • Proficiency in LMS software, SharePoint, Microsoft Office tools.
  • Collaboration and influencing skills

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Engineering, or technical based and 2+ years of experience working with cross functional groups to see projects to closeout. Experience influencing stakeholders to come to a decision. Experience managing a budget.
  • Associate'sdegree in Business, Education, Engineering, or technical based and 4+ years of experience working with cross functional groups to see projects to closeout. Experience influencing stakeholders to come to a decision. Experience managing a budget.
  • High School Diploma and 6+ years of experience working with cross functional groups to see projects to closeout. Experience influencing stakeholders to come to a decision. Experience managing a budget.

Preferred

  • Training Evaluation Expertise - Experience applying models such as Kirkpatrick, Phillips ROI, or similar frameworks to measure training effectiveness and drive data-informed improvements.
  • Learning Analytics & Impact Measurement - Ability to design evaluation strategies, analyze learning data, and translate insights into actionable recommendations that improve performance outcomes.
