We are looking for an Advanced Practice Provider to join the elite Lee Health Heart Institute with our Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Teams!

Cardiac Surgery OR APP Position Information:

The Heart Institute is growing! We are expanding to support the community and adding to our already robust interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery service lines. The right candidate will have experience working in an operating room setting in an advanced provider and/or certified first-assist role. Cardiac Surgery experience is a must as this role includes endovascular vein harvesting, room and patient prep, line placement and other responsibilities specific to the operating room environment.

  • Single-site practicethat includes 5 full-time/3 part-time APPs supporting 6 full-time/2 part-time cardiac surgeons.
  • M-F schedule with weekends; Rotating callweeknight 1:5, weekend 1:7;No ICUor in-house overnight call required.
  • Stable APP groupwith low turnover, mostsenior APP +30 yearsof experience
  • Primary responsibilities include 1st assisting in the operating room including endoscopic vessel harvesting and peri-operative patient care under the supervision of a surgeon.
  • Additional responsibilities include patient management in the progressive care unit and follow-up clinic but are actively recruiting for dedicated non-operative APPs team to assist with patient care.
  • Robust opportunities forclinician growthandleadership development.
  • Highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (Acute pathway preferred) program and are certified
  • Active, unrestricted license in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain this license prior to start
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in Cardiac Surgery including endoscopic vessel harvesting
  • BLS, ACLS, DEA
  • Must meet credentialing requirements as established by the LMHS Medical Staff Services department
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required
  • EPIC EHR with Healthcare AI to reduce charting requirements

Thoracic Surgery OR APP Position Information:

A new dedicated Thoracic Surgery service line is rapidly growing in Fort Myers! The right candidate will have experience working in an operating room setting in an advanced provider and/or certified first-assist role.

  • Two-site practice (HealthPark and Gulf Coast Hospitals ~ 7 miles apart)that includes 2 full-time dedicated thoracic surgeons.
  • M-F schedule with weekends; Rotating callweeknight & weekend 1:4;No ICUor in-house overnight call required.
  • Primary responsibilities include 1st assisting in the operating room including robotics, VATS, and open procedures.
  • Additional responsibilities include patient management in the progressive care unit but are actively recruiting for dedicated non-operative APPs team to assist with patient care.
  • Robust opportunities forclinician growthandleadership development.
  • Highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (Acute pathway preferred) program and are certified
  • Active, unrestricted license in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain this license prior to start
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in a surgical specialty but willing to train the right new graduate
  • BLS, ACLS, DEA

  • EPIC EHR with Healthcare AI to reduce charting requirements
