Job Description Summary:
The George Washington University School of Nursing (GW Nursing) drives innovation and improvements in health care worldwide through the education of compassionate nurses, esteemed educators and researchers, entrepreneurial leaders, and influential policy experts.

The George Washington University School of Nursing (GW Nursing) is seeking an Associate Director, Admissions and Enrollment Management to play a key role in shaping the next generation of nursing leaders.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Enrollment and Success, the Associate Director will lead application management, data analysis, and system oversight within the Enrollment Management team. This role is central to advancing strategies that enhance the quality and selectivity of GW Nursing's student body while ensuring efficient processes, data integrity, and a strong applicant experience. Using forecasting tools and historical trends, the Associate Director will help GW Nursing achieve enrollment targets on a cycle-to-cycle basis and drive continuous improvement across operations.

The Associate Director will also represent GW Nursing both on and off campus, supporting the development and execution of recruitment strategies, assessing the effectiveness of enrollment initiatives, and serving as a key decision-maker in the application review process. Core responsibilities include implementing targeted recruitment strategies, analyzing data to inform planning, conducting holistic application reviews, and making recommendations for admission and special program eligibility.

This role may also plan, execute, and represent the university both on-campus and off-campus at events via information sessions, interviews, high school visits, college fairs, open houses, and department events. It may lead special programs/projects in support of enrollment management efforts.

The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in Slate and Banner and the leadership to drive innovation as we enter the next era of admissions and enrollment technology.

Responsibilities Include:
Application Management

  • Manage the admissions process for doctoral, master's, and undergraduate programs, ensuring timely and accurate application processing from start to decision.
  • Oversee application completeness checks, faculty assignments, standard reviews, offer letters, and applicant activation in Banner.
  • Establish and refine department procedures for processing applications, ensuring consistency, compliance and efficiency.
  • Partner with faculty reviewers and selection committees to facilitate timely evaluations.
  • Collaborate with online vendors including our marketing partners to ensure smooth data integrations, troubleshoot issues, and support ID generation/data feed processes.
  • Oversee compliance audits for conditional admits.


Data Analysis

  • Create, run, and analyze reports in Slate, Tableau and Power BI to monitor progress toward enrollment goals, identify trends, and support decision-making.
  • Develop custom queries and reporting dashboards to support recruitment and enrollment initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and present admitted and declined student survey data.

System Management

  • Serve as the Slate Administrator for GW Nursing, overseeing configuration, workflows, data integrity, and optimization.
  • Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and project implementations, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Oversee integration with Banner and maintain accurate student records, including enrollment, billing, and compliance.
  • Act as project manager for enrollment-related system initiatives, including testing, documentation, and user training.
  • Guide the Enrollment Management team in maximizing Slate's functionality to strengthen communication, streamline processes, and improve the student experience.

Other Duties:

  • Represent GW Nursing at Recruitment events, information sessions, open houses, and related activities as needed.
  • Lead special projects in support of enrollment management goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • 2+ years' experience with any or all of the following systems:

    • Slate
    • Salesforce/TargetX, Banner, Tableau, and Qualtrics



  • Project Management experience
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Impeccable judgment and discretion in dealing with issues pertaining to confidentiality
  • Customer service oriented

Hiring Range $66,095.67 - $90,896.59
