Job Summary
- Manage and maintain Quality Management System manuals and procedures
- Investigate quality issues, lead root-cause analysis (RCA), and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrance
- Conduct regular internal audits to monitor the performance of the Quality Management System and identify areas for improvement
- Plan, prepare, and lead external Quality System and process audits (AS9100 and NADCAP)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the Quality Management System and drive organizational efficiency
- Oversee effective implementation of the Quality Management System throughout the company
- Communicate quality statistics and improvement activities across the business
- Ensure that all contractual and regulatory quality requirements are defined and communicated on assigned customers and programs
- Support all departments to ensure control of receiving, in-process and final quality of product
- Recommend more efficient and quality-oriented processes
- Provide customer interface on quality issues and problem resolution
- Collaborate with sales, purchasing, production, quoting and contract management to establish quality procedures for meeting customer requirements
- Interface with suppliers to correct problems dealing with purchased materials
- Provide support to manufacturing including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions to resolve problems in product manufactured
- Assist in defining and monitoring the quality management system and in developing an organizational culture that stresses quality processes
- Monitor personnel and processes to ensure compliance with company guidelines, policies and procedures
- Update area supervision regarding concerns
- Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical
- Prior experience with ISO or AS environments
- Prior experience with NADCAP environments
- Experience preparing and leading ISO/AS and/or NADCAP audits
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly
processes together with work measurement and work standards - Able to read and interpret engineering drawings is required
- Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan,
resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities - Understanding of DOE, 6-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing desired
- Intermediate level of computer skills in email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Microsoft Project, and MRP/ERP
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and
project company image to attract business - Negotiation and conflict management skills together with
demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem-solving - Ability to multi-task efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment
Required Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree: BSEE, BSIE, BSQET is preferred
- An appropriate 2 year degree may be considered
- 2 years experience in maintaining production and inventory
control standards in a manufacturing setting
