The Clinical Manager oversees the daily operations of a direct patient care department, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and quality standards. This role provides clinical leadership, guiding staff in delivering developmentally appropriate care and evaluating outcomes. The Clinical Manager supports quality and safety initiatives, contributes to organizational goals, and drives improvements in healthcare performance and patient experience. In collaboration with other healthcare leaders, the Clinical Manager fosters professional development, coaches for performance, and cultivates a positive environment for both team members and patients/families. The Clinical Manager of Virtual Nursing leads a dynamic and innovative virtual care delivery model, where virtual nurses partner with bedside teams to support smooth transitions, continuity of care, and a high-quality patient experience. This model is designed to increase the time bedside nurses can spend with patients and families while improving satisfaction with key care processes. As the program continues to grow, this systemwide leadership role will oversee virtual care delivery across the four hospital campuses in Aurora, Colorado Springs, Highlands Ranch, and Broomfield. Reporting to the Vice President of Acute Care, the Manager collaborates closely with Patient Care Services leaders across departments utilizing virtual care and is responsible for leading a team of nurses predominately focused on virtual admission and discharge workflows in the inpatient hospital setting.
Shift Information Full Time, 40 hours per week. Benefit Eligible This role is predominately weekday hours with availability for evening/night/weekend escalations as they arise. More to be discussed at time of interview. Department Information: This is an in-person role. Virtual Nursing has team members at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora Colorado and in Colorado Springs. There is an expectation to visit Colorado Springs at least once per week.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops and communicates the department's strategic plan and annual goals, aligning team priorities with organizational objectives to enhance clinical practice, quality of care, and professional growth.
- Selects, trains, and evaluates department staff, creating a supportive environment that promotes development, engagement, and high performance.
- Makes decisions on hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations in coordination with Associate Clinical Managers.
- Develops departmental budget recommendations and monitors expenditures to support cost-effective operations.
- Directs and manages daily departmental operations, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Uses evidence-based practice to develop and maintain guidelines for safe, effective care.
- Provides clinical expertise, guiding team members in delivering developmentally appropriate care and evaluating outcomes for infants and children with complex health needs.
- Oversees staff and financial resource allocation, adjusting as needed to meet patient care demands while maintaining budget compliance.
- Establishes department performance metrics and collaborates with Associate Clinical Managers to achieve clinical, operational, and developmental goals. Identifies and acts on opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Resolves escalated, complex, or sensitive patient/family issues and operational concerns, making inclusive, data-informed decisions that address root causes.
- Interprets and enforces quality and safety standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and promote best practices.
- Leads and supports a culture of clinical inquiry by mentoring team members on practice-based research and quality improvement projects.
- Represents the department in senior leadership and interdepartmental meetings, fostering collaboration across teams and participating in organizational committees.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degrees
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is required.

- Licenses & Certifications
- BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or Magnet recognized Certification is required
Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $121,394.93 to $182,092.39
