Position Description:

At Wabash, Assemblers perform various tasks and are responsible for anything from installing and assembling subassemblies and component parts to operating rivet punchers to installing decals and much more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:



  • Owning and assisting in improving our safety, quality, and delivery performance
  • Keeping your work area organized and free of any potential work hazards
  • Caulking materials
  • Using power tools to measure and cut material
  • Installing rivets
  • Operating heavy machinery
  • Installing truck bed flooring
  • Following decal templates/ blueprints
  • Installing signs, reflectors, fenders, mud flaps and other associated parts
  • Performing additional work as assigned by the Supervisor or Coordinator.
  • Operating safely through wearing personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.
  • Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices.

Qualifications:



  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Basic reading /writing/ & verbal skills
  • Familiarity with the use of a tape measure and hand/power tools.


Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

At Wabash, we give you the training to become comfortable in any Assembler position. Upon receiving an offer letter from us, you'll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor. Experience in manufacturing and a high school diploma are desired but not required.

Working Conditions/Environment:

The work environment described below is representative of what an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. An Assembler works in an environment in which safety, environmental, and health concerns demand constant attention. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions such as the noise level and high temperatures.

All employees on the production floor must wear the necessary personal production equipment (PPE). Physical Demands:

As an Assembler, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle and operate tools or controls for the length of their entire shift. The employee needs full range of motion in their arms and hands in this position. All Assemblers must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some Assemblers also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.
