We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You have spent years building and evolving enterprise platforms that thousands of people depend on every day, and you know the difference between architecture that looks good on a whiteboard and architecture that actually survives production. You think in systems, not silos. When someone says "we need to upgrade SAP," you are already mapping dependencies, authorization impacts, downtime windows, and what breaks if the integration to Jira goes sideways.

You are comfortable sitting with a finance director who needs a new BW analysis role and an infrastructure engineer who is troubleshooting HANA memory spikes, and you can move between those conversations without losing context. You do not wait for perfect requirements. You ask the right questions, sketch the architecture, identify the risks, and start building.

Security is not a checklist for you. You think about ransomware scenarios, authorization creep, and what happens when someone misconfigures a cloud connector. You automate the repetitive work so you can focus on the hard problems, and you have opinions about what belongs in Terraform versus what belongs in a runbook.

At Synopsys, you will own the technical architecture for SAP suite of applications and other enterprise application platforms that support a global engineering company. The systems are complex, the stakes are real, and what you build will matter.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end technical architecture for SAP landscapes (ECC, BW, GRC, SLT, S/4HANA,SAC, BRIM) and adjacent platforms like Atlassian Jira and Confluence, spanning on-premises and cloud environments
  • Gather requirements from business stakeholders and application development teams, then design solution architectures that balance performance, security, scalability, and operational reality
  • Architect, configure, and lead implementation of SAP NetWeaver ABAP/J2EE stack components, SAP HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, and integrations using SAP Cloud Connector, Gateway, and Fiori
  • Design SAP authorization roles and BW analysis roles in partnership with business owners, then build and implement security frameworks that reduce intrusion, malware, and ransomware risk
  • Build automation using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tooling like Jenkins and Git to streamline administration, integrate with observability stacks, and improve availability and performance
  • Define and monitor operational KPIs, lead upgrades and patching cycles, tune system performance, and manage disaster recovery and resiliency processes
  • Design logical and physical data models and database schemas for OLTP, OLAP, and hybrid workloads across SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL

The Impact You Will Have

  • Enterprise application platforms that support 30,000 Synopsys employees globally will run more securely, reliably, and efficiently because of the architectures you design
  • Business teams will get the SAP functionality and integrations they need faster because you translate their requirements into technical solutions that actually work
  • Security posture across SAP and enterprise platforms will improve through authorization frameworks, hardening measures, and disaster recovery processes you put in place
  • Operational overhead will decrease as you automate repetitive administration tasks and integrate monitoring to catch issues before they become outages
  • Upgrade and migration projects will succeed because you identify risks early, design solid cutover plans, and keep cross-functional teams aligned through execution
  • Application development teams will move faster because you provide clear architectural guidance, evaluate emerging technologies, and remove technical blockers
  • Database performance and scalability will improve as you design schemas, tune workloads, and establish standards that align with business and application needs

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing SAP technical architectures, including deep expertise in SAP NetWeaver (ABAP and J2EE), SAP HANA, ECC, BW, and S/4HANA
  • Proven ability to architect, configure, install, and upgrade SAP platform components including ECC, BW, Solution Manager, GRC, SLT, BOBJ, Fiori, and BRIM
  • Strong experience designing SAP authorization roles, BW analysis roles, and security frameworks that address intrusion, malware, ransomware, and disaster recovery scenarios
  • Proficiency building automation using Terraform and Ansible, and integrating CI/CD pipelines with monitoring and observability tools to improve service delivery
  • Solid database architecture experience across SAP HANA, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, including schema design and performance tuning for OLTP and OLAP workloads
  • Experience with SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Cloud Connector, and hybrid cloud architectures that span on-premises and cloud environments
  • Working knowledge of SUSE Linux, Windows, Ubuntu clustering technologies and Atlassian Jira/Confluence administration and integration

Who You Are

  • You can walk into a room with a business stakeholder who needs a new authorization role and walk out with a technical design that accounts for segregation of duties, audit requirements, and downstream system impacts
  • You write automation that other people can actually read and maintain, not just scripts that work on your laptop
  • You catch the risks that everyone else misses, the integration that will break during the upgrade, the authorization conflict that will surface in production, the performance bottleneck that will show up under load
  • You know when to push back on a requirement that will create technical debt and when to find a pragmatic path forward even if it is not the perfect solution
  • You can explain a complex architecture tradeoff to a VP in two sentences without losing the nuance, and you can dive into a technical deep-dive with an engineer without losing patience
  • You stay current on SAP roadmaps, cloud strategies, and security threats because you know that what worked two years ago might not work tomorrow
