Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Financial Systems to join Geosyntec's Corporate Accounting Team from Chicago, IL, supporting our corporate services based in Boca Raton, Florida. At the company's discretion a remote work option may be available. In this role, you will work under the direction of the Director-Financial Systems. You will manage accounting software implementations and upgrades, ensuring software processes are documented, and managing other system administrators. You will also work closely with all levels of the Accounting, Finance and Tax team to facilitate these financial projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Manage financial systems projects, including defining requirements, planning, scheduling, estimating effort hours, coordinating, and communicating with stakeholders;
  • Oversee development and maintenance of financial software applications, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analytics;
  • Facilitate integration of financial software applications with other internal and external systems, such as banking, tax, audit, compliance, and business intelligence;
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and best practices for financial systems and processes, including staying up to date on industry and related technology trends, regulations, and standards;
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for financial software applications, including resolving issues, performing upgrades, testing, and documenting changes;
  • Oversee training to end-users on how to use financial software applications, including creating user manuals, conducting workshops, and providing feedback;
  • Oversee financial data migrations for mergers and acquisitions;
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures that align with the organization's vision, mission, values, strategic objectives, and compliance requirements;
  • Help define and document the data architecture, data models, data dictionary, data lineage, data quality rules, data lifecycle, and data stewardship for the financial systems and data sources;
  • Develop and implement data quality checks, audits, controls, and remediation plans to ensure the integrity, validity, reliability, timeliness, and completeness of the financial data;
  • Identify, quantify, and mitigate data issues, risks, gaps, and conflicts, and escalate them as appropriate to the relevant stakeholders and authorities;
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to understand their data needs, requirements, and expectations, and facilitate the appropriate data access, support, and guidance;
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the financial systems, databases, reports, and dashboards to provide accurate, reliable, and timely financial information and insights to leadership and stakeholders;
  • Conduct regular audits and quality checks on the financial data and systems, and ensure compliance with data governance policies, standards, and regulations;
  • Effectively lead a team of Financial System Analysts including interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, appraisals, supervision and disciplinary actions.


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, accounting, finance, or related field and seven (7) years of experience in financial software system management and at least two (2) years of supervisory experience or any equivalent of work experience and training totaling seven (11) years that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position.   • Experience with leading accounting software administration, testing, implementation, integration, and project management. (required)
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively manage individual workload and workload of others. (required)
  • Ability to make effective presentations on significant topics to senior management, employees, and other stakeholders. (required)
  • Must have ability to communicate clearly and logically. (required)
  • Ability to respond effectively to moderately complex inquiries or complaints. (required)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical and business documents and ability to deal with business symbolism (formulas, graphs, charts, etc.). (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $90,455 /year / Maximum Salary: $144,730 /year (Chicago, IL)
