- Position Summary
|
The Microbiology Reprocessing Technician is responsible for executing laboratory-based studies related to reusable medical device validation, including cleaning validation, disinfection efficacy, drying time, and lifecycle (simulated use) testing. This role focuses on hands-on laboratory execution in accordance with applicable standards such as ISO 17664, AAMI TIR12/TIR30, ISO 15883, ISO 11737, and GLP/ISO 17025 requirements. The technician supports study setup, execution, and documentation in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

- Responsibilities
|
- Execute reprocessing validation studies, including:
- Cleaning validation (manual and automated)
- Disinfection efficacy studies
- Dry time and residual moisture assessments
- Simulated use / lifecycle testing of reusable devices
- Perform test article preparation, including soiling, inoculation, and device assembly/disassembly
- Operate and maintain washer-disinfectors, sterilizers, drying equipment, and related test systems
- Follow and execute approved protocols, SOPs, and work instructions
- Accurately document all study activities, observations, and results in accordance with GLP and ISO 17025 requirements
- Support equipment qualification, calibration, and validation activities
- Identify and communicate deviations, unexpected results, or issues to Study Directors or management
- Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and compliance with safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support study timelines and deliverables
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to workflow, efficiency, and quality

- Education and Experience
|
- Minimum of high school diploma
- 0-3 years of laboratory experience (medical device, pharmaceutical, or microbiology preferred)
- Experience with aseptic technique and laboratory best practices
- Experience in regulated environments (GLP, ISO 17025) preferred
