Cone Health is seeking a highly motivated director to lead retail pharmacy program. The director is responsible for assuring retail pharmacy services are developed and sustained to offer unsurpassed health care experiences to our patients, healthcare providers, and community.
Essential Job Function:
- Collaborate with service care providers and patients to establish, maintain, and provide oversight of health system-wide retail pharmacy services.
- Develop and manage key ambulatory pharmacy services strategy, including but not limited to: Retail pharmacy expansion. Plan, budget and justify capital equipment, operating, and human resources requirements to accomplish goals within areas of responsibility.
- Assist with the selection and implementation of technology needed to sustain retail pharmacy distribution operations.
- Build and execute focused marketing initiatives to help patients, physicians, employer gourps, etc, to recognize and easily utilize the services of Cone Health retail pharmacies.
- Develop, implement, and report on quality, safety, financial, and customer service measures within the assigned areas of responsibility.
- Meet regulatory, national, and best-practice standards within responsibility areas through continuous monitoring and improvement.
- Prepare and present information on drug therapy and clinical pharmacy programs to pharmacy staff, nursing staff, physicians, medical staff, administrative council, and others.
- Work with health plans, other insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, employer groups, government, and other third-party programs to coordinate retail pharmacy and associated disease management services.
- Cultivate and foster a top decile (tier 1) employee partnership culture.
- Develop and lead a team of highly skilled and dedicated staff to exemplify outstanding performance and iCARE standards and principles, including communication, accountability, respect, and empowerment.
Education:
- Required: BS Pharmacy or PharmD
- Preferred: Master of Health Administration, Master of Science in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Administration, Master of Business Administration, or other advanced degree in pharmacy or healthcare leadership.
Experience:
- Required: 5 years in Retail Pharmacy with 3 years supervisory experience
- Preferred: PGY1 and PGY2 ASHP Accredited Pharmacy Residencies or equivalent work experience. Experience with budget, financial management, and staffing methodologies. Experience with implementing improvement processes, preferred lean methodologies.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Current active license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina, or eligible to obtain North Carolina pharmacy license within two months of hire.
