Founded in 1855, Collins is family-owned and produces softwood and hardwood products at their facilities in Chester, California, Lakeview, Oregon and Kane, Pennsylvania. In Chester, Collins has the Builders Supply retail hardware and building materials store. Collins is highly respected for their sustainable forest management, practiced across their 370,000 acres of FSC-certified lands in California, Oregon, and Pennsylvania.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the team for Collins as well as coordinating the organization's office operations. This position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Provide a broad variety of tasks and reports to support the accounting and forestry teams.
  • Track, manage, and request invoices and reimbursements related to western region grants and agreements.
  • Responsible for general office management to support individual department needs.
  • Greet visitors and direct inquiries to the appropriate party.
  • Screen and transfer main line phone calls.
  • Coordinate billing and payments as needed to support the accounting and forestry team.
  • Responsible for daily retrieval of mail at the post office. Sort and distribute mail.
  • Utilize the Log Inventory Management System (LIMS) by:

    • Setting up new sales, including sources, vendors, contracts, and sample expansions;
    • Entering trip tickets;
    • Importing scale files and validate loads;
    • Processing logger payments by running Settlement Manager, importing the Financial Interface into D365, and sending vendor statements;
    • Managing logger holdback retentions and releases; and
    • Running miscellaneous reports as needed.


  • Sort and distribute payroll checks/paystubs on scheduled paydays.
  • In coordination with management, organize/coordinate company related events, including summer and holiday programs, and staff meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
  • On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.


Position Requirements: Must meet position requirements to be considered a candidate for this position.



  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and have earned a high school diploma.
  • Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Site attendance during scheduled shift is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check, a pre-employment drug screening, and a pre-employment motor vehicle report.


Environmental Conditions:

Temperature controlled office environment.

Required Personal Protective Equipment:

Individuals must be willing to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Positions may require additional PPE at specific times. Examples of PPE which may be required include high visibility garments, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, a hard hat, foot protection, and a face shield.

$18.00-$21.00 DOE
