The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). Position Overview This position serves as the Assistant Athletics Director, Development of the Cal Athletics Fund and works closely with the Development Leadership Team to support the implementation of the fundraising strategies and goals for the department. The Cal Athletics Fund, which is the sole fundraising group for intercollegiate athletics, is comprised of teams of individuals who focus on leadership gifts, annual giving, donor engagement, and alumni relations. The Assistant Athletics Director, Development reports directly to the Senior Associate Athletics Director, Development (Deputy Chief Development Officer). This position is responsible for leadership/major giving and will directly supervise a team of Leadership Giving Officers. This position will support the development of staff and ensuring predetermined fundraising goals are met each year. The Assistant Athletics Director, Development will maintain a portfolio of donor prospects that includes influential, complex, or highly-rated donors and will be expected to surpass individual fundraising goals This position will be integral to the leadership of the team and requires a high-level of leadership and management ability in alignment with the athletics department's fundraising goals. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $130,000.00 - $160,000.00.
