Engineering Dean's Office Student Administrative Office Assistant Job Description As a student Administrative Assistant for the Engineering Dean's Office, you will work with the Office Administrator toward the mission to foster student success, support research and discovery, promote a welcoming environment, and build public engagement. This job requires you to interact with both the Dean's Office team as well as other leaders in the college and campus. As an Administrative Assistant, you will complete daily tasks as well as long- and short-term projects that support the unit in a variety of areas listed below. Your supervisor will work with you to determine projects that align to your career and development goals within the scope of the unit's administrative work. Daily Tasks * Responding to and composing professional emails * Scheduling conference room reservations using Outlook calendar * Greeting office guests/front desk reception/wayfinding * Managing correspondence including emails, phone calls and mail * General office duties as assigned * Copying, scanning, filing * Inventory and purchasing office and break room items * Provide shipping/mailing assistance * Printer maintenance and management * Submitting website update requests * Submit FM@your service requests * Key check out/door access Project Examples * Website and communications management * Qualtrics surveys * File organization * Digitizing documents * Donor relations * Survey data collection * Report development * Event organizing and catering Required Skills * Customer service * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Professional behavior * Task prioritization * High attention to detail * Self-motivated * Desire and willingness to work hard and to learn Desired Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Using data to create charts and graphs Work Schedule Availability of working up to 20 hours per week over the summer.
