About This Role
The Student Engagement Coordinator for the College of Agriculture is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting programs, events, and initiatives that foster student involvement, strengthen community within the college, and enhance the overall student experience. This position collaborates with academic departments, student organizations, faculty, staff, and campus partners to create meaningful engagement opportunities that support student success, leadership development, and connection to the university community.
Responsibilities include coordinating student engagement activities and college-wide events; developing targeted marketing and social media strategies to promote programs and increase participation; supporting orientation and transition efforts for new students; and coordinating signature events such as the college commencement program and graduating senior awards ceremony. The coordinator also supervises student employees assisting with engagement programming and evaluates program effectiveness through assessment and feedback.
The position provides support and guidance for student organizations through collaboration with Ag Council and assistance with planning, promoting, and executing student organization events and activities. In support of recruitment and outreach efforts, the coordinator also assists the recruiting team with youth and prospective student programming, including college-sponsored summer camps and related experiential activities designed to introduce prospective students to opportunities within the College of Agriculture.
At times, this position works collaboratively with other engagement team members to support programming and initiatives related to international students, graduate students, and career development events. Additional responsibilities include maintaining effective communication with campus partners, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with university policies, and performing other duties as assigned. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, develop, facilitate and/or support student engagement opportunities/events in assigned departments and for the college.
- Creating and implementing targeted marketing campaigns to promote events and programs across campus.
- Work closely with orientation instructors to enhance new student engagement with the department, college, and university.
- Coordinate social media postings with department and college level communications and recruiting staff.
- Coordinate the college's commencement program and graduating senior awards ceremony.
- Develop social media content from student engagement activities and events.
- Collecting and analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of engagement programs and identifying areas for improvement.
- Supervise student workers supporting engagement activities.
- Attend monthly Ag Council meetings and provide support for facilitating, organizing, and advertising college-wide events.
- Support planning, organization and execution of student organization events and meetings.
- Assist with college summer campus for prospective students.
- Assist with on-campus recruiting and outreach events as needed.

This position is On-site. This position is on-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and five years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.
Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with student information systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience handling student records and maintaining confidentiality.
