About This Role

Kansas State University's Aerospace and Technology Campus in Salina is seeking a dedicated Flight Operations Specialist to join our growing team of Aviation professionals!

The Flight Operations Specialist position supports all activities of flight line operations under the supervision of the Flight Line Manager and Supervisors of Flight (SOF). This position is responsible for daily aircraft servicing, washing, and ground handling tasks that support safe flight training operations. The Flight Ops Specialist assists with the interface between the flight program, flight maintenance, and flight line operations by maintaining aircraft cleanliness, performing basic servicing tasks, and ensuring proper ground handling procedures are followed.

Kansas State University Salina Aerospace and Technology Campus is located in Salina, Kansas - a town of approximately 50,000 in close proximity to two major highways, and 65 miles west of K-State's main campus in Manhattan. The Salina campus is centered around the student experience emphasizing innovative learning, real-world experiences and industry connections. We are a tight-knit family with a small college feel and the resources of a Big 12 university.


Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • One year of relevant experience
  • Valid driver's license.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Familiar with the safe operation and use of aircraft refuelers, tugs and aircraft preheaters.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Previous FAR 141 dispatch experience.
  • Familiar with FAA regulations and Aviation Terminology.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals.
  • Scheduling experience of workers.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
