Asan InpatientPhysical Therapist, youwillbe responsible for initialevaluation, reevaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation,reportingand documentation of all referred patients within departmental and professional standards. Provideseffective and efficientevidence-basedcare as it relates to physical therapy following accreditation guidelines, licensing regulations, professional code of ethics, and standards of practiceincludingevaluation/reevaluation, treatmentplanning,DME (Durable Medical Equipment)recommendations and discharge planning.Provideseducation and training to patients and their families/ caregivers, accessesappropriate additionalinformation for individualized patient care anddemonstratessound clinicalreasoning during patient care to maximize effective and safe outcomes.
Completesaccurateandtimelydocumentation to include clinical interventions provided, discharge and equipment recommendations, charges, and prescriptions and ensures that documentation reflects need for acute rehab level of care to include patient/family education, training, treatmentintensityand duration.Follows Medstar NRH documentation policy and writes legible, comprehensive conference reports, patient flowsheets, time offchecklistsand all other written documentsin a timely manner. Completes outcome data according to department guidelines.
Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations, meets established productivity targets,maintainsaccurateschedules for all patients and professional activities and istimely, punctual, and is prepared for work schedule and meetings. Utilizes professional communication in decision making and problem solving and consistently communicates & conducts self in a professional manner. Uses written, verbal, and non-verbal communication,appropriate tothe specific audience.
Participates in team conferences and family conferences asappropriate. Collaborates interventions with other team members towards an interdisciplinary approach. Activelyparticipatesin general staff and team meetings, and committees and communicates opportunities for process improvement that impact patient care & operations. Participates in developmental activities for continued professional growth and takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self.Serves as a resource and preceptor for new teammembersand student orientation.
Participates in development and implementation of goals andobjectivesfor the program area as delegated by the Clinical Supervisor or Management andparticipatesinin-servicesand continuing education programs. Disseminates continuing education information to staff and students. Participates in ongoing clinical and administrative system development, data collection, and process improvement toassureoptimalfunctioning of the service area &/or Medstar NRH.Participates in peer review, program evaluation, and process improvement activities regularly and for special projects.Assistsin developing,revising,or reviewing treatment guidelines in specialtyareasas delegated by the Clinical Supervisor or Management. Serves as Clinical Instructor for PT/PTA students and volunteers.
