We are seeking an Abrasive Saw Operator to work in our Monroe, NC facility. In this position you are responsible for cutting orders to meet customer expectations using an abrasive saw. A successful candidate will demonstrate an attention to detail and ensure that they produce a quality product.

This is a night shift position from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, working on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. You will work 2 days, have 2 days off, work 3 days; then 2 days off, work 2 days, then have 3 days off. Training will take place on the same shift.

Additional Responsibilities



  • Operate abrasive cut-off saws to cut a variety of high temperature as directed to proper length and weight.
  • Work from mill orders, schedules, sample requests, verbal instructions, and other data to make calculations
  • Mark billets, bars and other shape material for cutting to specified size, length and weight.
  • Maintain all require documentation per established procedures
  • Load and secure material on saw bed, set for proper length, operate as necessary to cut off prescribed section.
  • Change abrasive discs, maintain adequate coolant supply, remove grindings, perform, and assist in maintenance, move materials to designated locations.
  • Identify all scrap material and segregate by alloy for movement to and storage in the proper locations.
  • Operate 22 caliper stamping gun, operate hand grinder and use hand tools to physically identify and properly prepare each cut piece for shipment, testing or scrapping.
  • Detect and report defective materials and improper equipment operation to supervision
  • Properly use tape measures, calipers square and micrometer to verify proper length, size, and end squareness


Preferred Qualifications



  • High School Diploma / GED
  • One (1) year of manufacturing experience is preferred
