Union Master Painter - JLL What this job involves: Looking for a skilled "painter" to paint the interior and exterior of structures, buildings, pipes and other surfaces. A master painter must be knowledgeable in the proper site/material preparation techniques, preservation, coating/paint selection and applying the right materials based upon the various materials/surfaces associated with a given job. They will ensure all jobs are performed within the guidance of Genentech's Corrosion Prevention Program. The individual must have experience in painting with various tools and at various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. The master painter is expected to lead in planning efforts and execution of site wide painting projects. What your day-to-day will look like: Leads and/or guides the work of lower level painters; Plans work; selects materials; execute work within the guidelines/protocols provided in Genentech's Corrosion Prevention Program Surveys assets to determine repairs needed and develops schedules for completion. Applies paints, sealers, coatings and solvents to exterior and interior building surfaces. Operates equipment such as airless spray equipment, scaffolding, and motorized lifts. Performs building exterior and interior caulking, finish repair, mud and tape, and texturing tasks. Performs special refinishing tasks including wood surface preparation, staining, and sealing. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Ensures all solvents, paint and coatings are properly stored or disposed after completing a job. Required qualifications: High school diploma or GED; At least 5-7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Preferred qualifications: Completed engineering/materials degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Ability to prepare engineering documents and specifications for the project. Ability to plan work schedules and assign duties. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. Skilled in surface preparation techniques for various materials (steel, tin, wood, zinc, composites...) Ability to lead and train. Skill in selecting and applying primers, paint, epoxy coatings and associated products. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Skill in applying coatings and/or caulking and completing repairs to exterior and interior surfaces. Knowledge of glass repair techniques, tools and materials. Skill in wood surface preparation, staining, and/or sealing techniques. Location: South San Francisco, CA Schedule:6am to 2pm or 7am to 3pm This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Estimated compensation for this position: 71,900.00 - 88,100.00 USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
