Lead Material Handler, Distribution Center

Location: Memphis, TN, USA - 4836 Southridge Blvd

Shift - Sunday start time 6:00 pm until 2:30 am; Monday through Thursday start time 5:30 pm until 2:00am (or until work is completed)

Note - Shift subject to change based on the needs of the business. OT may be required and is mandatory if required.

This position also comes with competitive pay and a $1.50/hr shift differential. Benefit eligible.

Position Overview:

Our Distribution Center is looking for a dynamic and motivated Lead Material Handler to join our team. This is a fantastic chance to work for a company that has the rare mix of being a fun, yet high-paced and professional work environment.

  • Assist the management team in the nightly operations of the warehouse.

  • Leading a team of associates in the warehouse responsible for performing the physical tasks of picking and processing pharmaceutical product andsupplies.

  • Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary

  • May use (but not limited to) power equipment such as a forklift, hand tools, and other devices operated in a warehouse environment

  • Gives work direction, resolves problems, and seats deadline to ensure timely completion of work.

  • Experience working in a cold area.

  • Assist in other areas in the warehouse as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 5+ year(s) of related experience.

Additional Skills and Qualifications

  • 5 years of work experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred. A minimum of 6 months of McKesson experience is required for internal employees

  • Leadership skills, including coaching and fostering engagement and collaboration across cross-functional departments

  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

  • Power Equipment is preferred, but, not required. Reach Truck and Pallet Jack. Must be able to maintain certifications once trained

  • Exposure/experience with Accumax, RF preferred, but, not required

  • Must have a positive attitude, be quality driven, organized, punctual, committed, self-motivated and have an excellent attendance record

  • Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality; self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong adherence to established procedures and safety protocols; comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Physical Demands (may include all or some of the following, some only on occasion):

  • General office demands

  • Must be comfortable working at heights

  • Must be comfortable working in refrigerated areas when required

  • Ability to walk up to 10 miles throughout the course of a shift (steps vary per shift)

  • Ability to lift 20-50 pounds repetitively throughout the course of a shift without assistance; ability to lift greater weights in a team lift (weight varies based on product)

  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day.

  • May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day.

  • May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.

  • Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.

  • Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to hear normal voice sounds
