Project Lead | $5,000 Sign-On Bonus Location: Montgomery, AL Sign-On Bonus This position includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus, paid in three installments over your first year of employment at the 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month employment milestones. Each installment is contingent upon active employment and being in good standing with the company at the time of payment. Sign-on bonus payments are treated as taxable income and subject to applicable withholdings. Overtime is available. Job Summary The Project Lead - Structured Cabling acts as the on-site coordinator and supervisor of several Crew Leads - Structured Cabling for voice and data installation projects, ensuring job completion meets company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining staff efficiency. General Job Duties and Responsibilities Runs major project crews, takes responsibility for crew performance, and provides necessary training Ensures adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines; holds weekly safety meetings Initiates performance-related communications and escalates to the Project Manager as needed Coordinates with the Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and budget compliance Completes all IES Commercial and project paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers Performs quality checks, coordinates moves, and prepares cut sheets for voice and data cross-connects; prepares red-lined as-built drawings Serves as the main on-site customer contact and attends facility and construction meetings as required Demonstrates strong technical knowledge and troubleshoots/resolves technical issues as they arise Completes other responsibilities as assigned Min USD $25.00/Hr. Max USD $30.00/Hr. Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements Self-motivated, positive, and professional; helps create, develop, and implement process improvements Promotes Company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and business partners Acts as the Company liaison with customer representatives Possesses strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and written/oral communication skills Able to stand and walk large job sites regularly Able to work at various heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs Able to see and distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals (e.g., dial tones) Able to travel within branch and/or regional territory as needed Regular attendance is mandatory Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements High School diploma or GED equivalent Minimum 3 years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field Ability to terminate fiber Minimum 6 months of supervisory and/or managerial experience Proficiency with required tools (screwdrivers, drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers, hammer, cable stripper, punch tools, crimp tools, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, continuity tester, etc.) Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents, including specifications and quality/reporting requirements Knowledge of universal communications color codes Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project) Must meet Company minimum driving standards License Required No Minimum Education High School Overview IES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services to a variety of end markets, including electrical, mechanical and communications contracting solutions for the commercial, industrial, residential and renewable energy markets.
