Join Our Team as a Autonomous Haulage System Leader at Epiroc! The AHS System Leader is responsible for leading the delivery of Autonomous Haulage System capabilities for a specific customer project, acting as the bridge between engineering development, system integration, and product management. This role ensures customer requirements are translated into a practical, scalable, and safe system solution while aligning internal development priorities, technical decisions, and deployment plans. The position combines technical leadership, cross-functional coordination, and selective customer engagement to support successful project execution and long-term customer value. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the system definition and execution of AHS scope for a designated customer project, ensuring alignment between customer requirements, engineering deliverables, and product direction.
- Translate customer use cases, operational needs, and site-specific constraints into clear technical and functional requirements for development teams.
- Work closely with engineering, software, controls, safety, validation, and field teams to guide development priorities, system integration, and issue resolution.
- Partner with product management to balance project-specific customer needs with standard product strategy, platform roadmap, and long-term maintainability.
- Support planning and prioritization of features, interfaces, configuration items, validation activities, and deployment readiness for the customer project.
- Coordinate technical decision-making across internal stakeholders to ensure solutions are fit for purpose, technically robust, and practical for field deployment.
- Monitor project progress related to system scope, risks, dependencies, and change requests, helping teams resolve blockers and maintain delivery momentum.
- Participate in customer discussions related to requirements, solution definition, status updates, technical clarifications, testing, and readiness for commissioning.
- Represent the internal development and system perspective in customer-facing conversations, ensuring expectations are realistic, commitments are clear, and issues are escalated appropriately.
- Support site acceptance, commissioning preparation, and early operational follow-up in collaboration with project, service, and field support teams.
- Drive documentation quality for requirements, interfaces, system changes, risks, and project decisions to maintain traceability across the development and deployment lifecycle.
- Promote safety, reliability, and operational performance as core principles in all system design and delivery decisions.
Key Interfaces This role works across engineering development, product management, project management, field operations, commissioning, service, and customer technical representatives. The AHS System Leader serves as a central coordination point for aligning internal teams and maintaining a consistent technical narrative with the customer throughout the project lifecycle. Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, automation, mechatronics, systems engineering, mining engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience in autonomous systems, mining automation, mobile equipment systems, or complex integrated control systems.
- Strong understanding of system development lifecycles, requirements management, verification and validation, and field deployment considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to work between technical development teams and business or product stakeholders.
- Experience supporting customer projects, technical workshops, commissioning activities, or system deployments in operational environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and drive practical decisions in a cross-functional project environment.
- Familiarity with safety-critical systems, mining operations, fleet management systems, or OEM/customer integration environments is an advantage.
