Position Summary

As a Receiving Clerk you will be responsible for works in warehouses and production facilities and is responsible for the daily organization and paperwork of all receiving functions which includes but not limited to the acceptance and distribution of all incoming product. A Receiving Clerk must be able to work long hours standing and bending as they are on their feet all day and thus must have strength and stamina to routinely pick up and move heavy objects. The Receiving Clerk is also responsible for the initiation and maintenance of standard work and other departmental procedures in order to achieve inventory integrity while also improving the Materials Group overall Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives. This is accomplished through the use of lean Tools in order to identify problems, recommend solutions and drive implementation through the use of continuous improvement activities.

Shift: 7:00-4:30 Monday-Thursday and 7:00am-11:00am on Friday

What you will do as a Receiving Clerk

1. Unloads and inspects shipments received for accuracy and potential damage. Files freight claims if necessary.

2. Verifies quantities of shipments received to documentation for accuracy and performs necessary receipts transaction in AS400 and/or Oracle.

3. Identify, participate and implement continuous improvement activities to impact overall receiving areas quality, cost, and delivery initiatives.

4. Participate in the identification and implementation of root cause and corrective action ideas.

5. Familiar with and understanding of standard work instructions and AMI procedures to ensure compliance.

6. Responds to inquiries concerning shipments received and status.

7. Reads and interprets shop papers such as travelers, blueprints, and other work instruction documents.

8. Must have working knowledge of plant procedures, transportation methods, safe methods of unloading materials, and destinations of material received.

9. Responsible for creating, measuring, reporting receiving data to support SQCD measurements.

10. Performs similar and related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities

Required:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications such as EXCEL, Microsoft WORD, Office.
Must be thoroughly familiar with materials, tools, and methods of the processes in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision.
Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks to ensure timely completion of job responsibilities.
Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints and specifications preferred.

Other:

Prior Forklift Experience preferred. CDL license a plus.
Direct hands on experience in an MRP systems environment preferred.

Prior Materials Management experienced preferred.
Requires effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with all employees at all levels of management.
Self starter, someone who is proactive and who can lead by example.
Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and help drive change.
Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience preferred.
Willingness to work overtime if required.

Pay range for this opportunity is$16.45-$21.29. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
