Main Duties & Responsibilities

Summary
Objectives:

Ship, Receive, store,
and distribute materials, finished goods and products within established
procedures. Maintains records and logs. Provides status reports of items due.
Verify shipment quantities, lot numbers, and part numbers, and correct any discrepancies.
Prepare shipping reports to required employees, and Supervisor / Manager.
Communicates with vendors, and carriers regarding shipments, ship dates, and
customer specifications. Prepare BOL's, packing slips and other paperwork
required for shipping. Investigate shipments from Sales / Customers for root
cause and dispositions.

Description
of essential functions and responsibilities:


  1. Responsible for facilitating the work movement through the shipping department under your direction, to include but not limited to the areas of counting, closing, reservations, packing, shipping, and inventory cycle counts as needed.
  2. Provide status report of each item in the shipping area, with dollar value of each order, to be sent to the Supervisor / Manager @7:30, and 1:30 daily meetings.
  3. Complete shipping closes for each job counted by total quantity. (Report to PC if there are any discrepancies.) Do this within a 10 - 15 window to keep clerks on track with shipments.
  4. Able to close jobs in the Component / Blank cages by total quantities for master paperwork (routers) provided. This will be performed in the absence or excessive workload in the area.
  5. Able to perform first issues for each component pulled and performed in the SyteLine system.
  6. Verify with Supervisor / Manager of all shipments that were either assigned or sent by email. This list should be included with end of day report.
  7. Make sure all 5's has been done by the end of the shift being worked, and the area is cleaned prior to leaving for the day.
    Ensure all partial inventory is put away at end of each shift daily. Nothing shall be left on the racks.
  8. Keep track of all incoming orders on an hourly basis or as needed per product flow, to make sure the work is distributed and prioritized. Keep Supervisor / Manager informed of this task.
  9. Complete Cycle Count reports once issued out and verify Cycle Count report once it is printed and disbursed. This will be done monthly, as advised from the Logistics Manager, or the Inventory Control Clerk.
  10. All areas are to be audited on a quarterly basis within the guidelines of the Cycle Count procedure and instructed by the Logistics Manager, or Inventory Control Clerk / Supervisor.
  11. Prepare orders for shipment. Verify counts, lot numbers, part numbers and paperwork for packages. Packs material per customer specification and seal and label all packages. Review and verify all orders from shipping employees on the table prior to being signed off by Supervisor.
  12. Process paperwork for shipments, including packing slips, bill of ladings, manifests, carrier logs, etc. Arrange shipments through various carriers, while being cost efficient, and in a timely manner.
  13. Verify after each Auto bagger run is performed to ensure correct information is on the bag and it meets the customer requirements. (Other employees can verify as well and initial the router, to prevent errors.)
  14. Work as an active Team member by participating in problem solving, team building, and all team activities to improve the processes, production quality, etc., of the shipping and cage operations. Use interpersonal skills as well as good written and verbal communication. Assist others in the department.

- Accuracy
of communication is mandatory to the success of inventory control and proper
shipment of production items. Must communicate to appropriate personnel any
problems or concerns regarding shipment schedules or inventory processing. Must
be able to train employees of lower classifications in shipping and receiving
methods and procedures.

- Good
housekeeping, knowledge of good machine safety is necessary as well as adherence
to Company Safety Rules.

Initiative
and Ingenuity
- Requires
initiative in solving problems associated with inventory control, storage, and
rotation of stock as well as shipping product in a timely and cost-efficient
manner. Ingenuity is required to package and ship goods most efficiently as
well as store inventory in a manner conducive to production needs. Makes
suggestions for improving the efficiency of workflow or equipment operation.
Takes on or reports for additional work as current tasks are completed.
Performs other work-related tasks as deemed necessary by Company priorities

WORK
ENVIRONMENT

Environmental
Surroundings
- Work is
in a warehouse / shipping environment of a machine shop where noise, exposure
to outside weather conditions, repetitive nature of the job etc. Are less
desirable than in a typical office environment.
Unavoidable
Hazards -
Possible
hazards related to cuts, bruises, muscle strains. Exposure to metalworking
fluids. Appropriate protective wear regarding eyes, ears and clothing are
required.

EFFORT

Physical - Able to lift over 30 - 50 pounds with
the assistance of other employees or with proper equipment. Requires strength
in opening and maneuvering crates, boxes, raw materials etc. Able to reach,
bend, stretch and manipulate small parts with hands and fingers. Capable of
operating computer and processing paperwork necessary for inventory control and
shipping. Able to operate a forklift. Most job assignments require continuous
standing and or sitting for periods exceeding 15 minutes at a time.

Mental - Work at times is highly repetitive and monotonous.
However, some aspects of inventory control and shipping may require
improvisation and ingenuity. Required to organize workflow for best efficiency.

Visual - Close attention to detailed
documentation. Capable of accurately counting various size pieces for inventory
and shipping requirements. Requires close and distance vision, color vision and
depth perception.

This role is onsite. Monday through Friday 5:00am to 1:30pm LG10


Qualifications

EDUCATION /
TRAINING

Demonstrated
ability to read and write English of a required in Company shop documents,
shipping and receiving documentation and computer software entry and processing
requirements. Must be capable of applying mathematical operations including
fractions and decimals, as required by warehouse / shipping operations.
Equivalent or higher than 9th grade level.

EXPERIENCE

Requires 5 years work experience in warehouse /
shipping / receiving operations or equivalent skills and knowledge expertise.
Must have maintained an inventory control system similar or comparable to that
used of the Company. Must be familiar with domestic and foreign shipping rules
and regulations. Demonstrated leadership skills and computer skills in
warehouse / shipping / receiving operations.

Compensation

In compliance with all states and
cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position
is $31.42 to $37.89/hour

Compensation can vary depending
on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience,
competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra
incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related
bonuses. Further details will be provided by our recruiting team during
the interview process.
