Chief Engineer (Lead HVAC Mechanic) - Fayetteville, Arkansas Summary: The Chief Engineer (CE) position is considered a "working lead" that is responsible for all working matters in the operations of the facilities. The nature of the position prevents the designation of a set work location as the work location encompasses all work sites listed in the most current PWS. The CE is required to travel to each site/work location as needed. Daily work sites with be coordinated with the Project Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Acts as the subject matter expert (SME) on all matters pertaining to the maintenance and repair of facilities and installed equipment
Job Requirements: Shall maintain a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education annually from a NATE, HVAC Excellence, or UA Star recognized provider program. All HVAC personnel designated to work on, operate, maintain, and (or) repair HVAC equipment or systems shall possess one or more of the following certifications:
Education and/or Experience:
Communication Skills Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, managers, and staff members. Ability to write reports. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, fellow employees, and customers. Reasoning Ability Must be able to read and interpret various information to ensure procedures are followed. Physical Demands The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally be required to lift more than 75 pounds. The employee must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Work environment will require on-call rotation. The employee may be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, irritating chemicals, and occasional cold, heat, and inclement weather. The work may require the use of protective devices, such as masks, goggles, and/or gloves. The position requires a government background check, must be able to maintain government access to facilities, and drug screen will be conducted for this position on a random basis | |
