Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including products for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Produces or procures the technical designs for modifications to new buildings, structures, utilities, and other systems in support of site operations.
  • Develops the technical requirements for the estimate, design, procurement, construction, maintenance, and operation of the above systems/equipment.
  • Plans, specifies, designs, and manages projects.
  • Supports maintenance and improves the reliability of assets.
  • Interfaces with company organizations, customers, and suppliers to meet company business requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering or another relevant discipline from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • 5+ years of related experience, including manufacturing experience in managing, designing and facilitating manufacturing sites.
  • Interface with Operations, Maintenance, and Construction personnel.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Preparing cost estimates and/or appropriations requests for capital projects.
  • Project management of a portfolio of large and small projects.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and flow.
  • Expertise in laying out manufacturing footprints for various programs.
  • Knowledge of and ability to read blueprints.
  • Cross-functional communication and relationship-building.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or another regulated heavy industry manufacturing environment.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $109,000 - $167,150
