Nippon Sanso Matheson has an immediate opening for an experienced
attorney at its Corporate Headquarters in Irving, TX. This generalist position will report to and
assist the General Counsel and is ideally suited for an enthusiastic legal
professional seeking a career as an in-house attorney in an entrepreneurial
environment with broad responsibility.

Duties
and Responsibilities: The
responsibilities of this position include to:
research,
review, interpret, draft and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts
associated with Matheson's industrial bulk, packaged and onsite gas
business. Types of contracts include sales, consulting, product supply,
construction, lease, and non-disclosure agreements;
provide
advice and support on a broad range of employment issues including
managing employee litigation in conjunction with outside counsel and in
coordination with the company's insurers; recruiting and hiring; wage and
hour; HR policies and procedures; ADA/FMLA/FLSA; employment and noncompete
agreements;
provide
counsel to business personnel on other matters of law, regulation and
policy, with an emphasis on real estate and environmental compliance;
manage
commercial litigation and other dispute processes, including managing outside
counsel to achieve Matheson's legal objectives within approved budgetary
parameters; and
work
closely with and support Matheson's Finance, Safety/Health/Environmental
and Human Resources teams.

Requirements: Candidates should have the following minimum
qualifications:
J.D.
from an ABA accredited law school with excellent academic credentials and
admission to the TX state bar;
minimum of three to five years of experience as a
commercial transactional attorney with experience in product sales and
service-related transactions and construction projects;
familiarity with labor relations and employment
law preferred;
strong
negotiation, analytical, and drafting skills;
demonstrated
ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines and balance multiple
tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision;
excellent
oral and written communication skills;
working
knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint;
ability
to work independently and partner effectively in a team environment; and
prior
experience in commercial law within a chemical or industrial/specialty gas
industry is a plus.

Pay Range: $140,000 to $170,000 annually
