Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Clinic/Practice Assistant to join our Endocrinology and Diabetes team in Newton! This onsite position will be 8:00am- 4:30pm Monday through Friday, located in an outpatient setting on the Newton-Wellesley Hospital main campus (2014 Washington Street, Newton, MA). We offer free parking!

This robust team helps people with diabetes and hormonal disorders to successfully manage their conditions. Patients receive state-of-the-art diabetes treatment through our team's advanced and effective techniques. In addition, we treat General endocrinology, Osteoporosis, and Thyroid disorders and tumors.

We are seeking a candidate with Epic experience and at least 2 years of front desk experience in a medical office. The ideal candidate will have experience checking patients in and out, collecting copayments, answering a high volume of phone calls, scheduling appointments, and providing excellent customer service!

Performs both administrative and clinical functions to support smooth and efficient clinical service or practice operations under minimal supervision. Performs administrative duties related to patient visits, including scheduling, check-in, and check-out duties (performs all duties of the other levels at the highest proficiency level). Actual job duties may vary by Department.

Essential Functions:
-Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office.
-Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records. Assist callers with routine inquiries and schedule appointments.
-Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical records/LMR.
-Acts as "Super User" for scheduling, registration, and billing systems.
-Provides assistance and training to others in these areas.
-May perform more complex or specialized functions (i.e., surgical scheduling, schedule changes/blocking) at a more advanced competency level.
-Provides functional guidance to Office and Practice Assistants.
-In conjunction with the Supervisor, oversees the daily activities of practice staff.
-May be required to accept co-payments.
-Handles, screens, and/or takes messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results.
