A Brief Overview The Senior Grants Officer is responsible for the engagement, cultivation and solicitation of potential funders to support the mission of University Hospitals. The major focus of their fundraising efforts is securing grants from foundation, corporate and government funders at the major gift ($100,000+) level. Responsibilities include: What You Will Do * Develop and execute major gift fundraising strategies in alignment with the research priorities of University Hospitals to maximize philanthropic results; * Identify, engage, cultivate and solicit prospective funders to University Hospitals; * Track, review and interpret requests for proposals and funding guidelines from foundations, corporations and government agencies to determine if appropriate for UH and how best to respond and comply; * Provide timely research and information on funding opportunities to match UH's priorities, requirements; and procedures; collaborate in defining and implementing project funding strategies; * Work with UH faculty and staff to develop programs in response to funding opportunities and identified institutional needs; * Develop, write, edit, and submit grant applications to foundation, corporate and government funders in coordination with physician and/or project teams. Monitor post-award grant compliance. Lead the stewardship of grants from foundation and government funders and prepare all grant reports in a timely manner as required by funders and in alignment with IR&D stewardship policies & protocols; * Effectively lead and ensure alignment of key stakeholders, both internal and external, in support of grant funded initiatives * Appropriately steward assigned funders in alignment with IR&D stewardship policies & protocols * Meet or exceed annual visitation, solicitation and attainment goals as defined in collaboration with IR&D and University Hospitals * Actively participate in UH IR&D development activities * Lead special projects as assigned and approved by IR&D and University Hospitals * Serve as a mentor and provide strategic guidance to Development Officers and other team members as appropriate Additional Responsibilities
