Summary:

The Assistant Vice President, Ambulatory Performance Delivery leads the strategic advancement of ambulatory implementation and performance initiatives to accelerate contract connectivity, optimize client outcomes, and drive measurable revenue growth. This leader elevates contract connections from a tactical support a strategic performance delivery capability that enables ambulatory organizations and health to maximize value, savings, and contract adoption across their ambulatory and no-acute sites. This role partners closely with Vizient leadership, suppliers, and clients to improve ambulatory performance through scalable processes, innovative delivery models, and proactive engagement strategies. The AVP drives operational excellence while ensuring the organization's ambulatory initiatives directly support growth, client success, and long-term market competitiveness.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Performance Delivery

  • Develops and executes enterprise strategies that enhance the efficiency, scalability, and impact of ambulatory performance delivery and implementation processes.

  • Positions delivery teams as proactive advisors that identify and activate contract opportunities to increase revenue, expand contract utilization, and improve client outcomes across all categories.

  • Aligns ambulatory performance initiatives with broader organizational growth strategies and financial objectives.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Builds and sustains strong relationships with internal business unit leaders, suppliers, and key client stakeholders.

  • Leverages stakeholder insights to continuously refine delivery strategies and improve the value delivered to clients and partners.

  • Provides strategic support to key clients through tailored implementation and performance engagements that accelerate contract connectivity and optimize supply chain outcomes.

Operational Excellence & Process Transformation

  • Leads large-scale process improvement initiatives to streamline onboarding, accelerate contract connectivity, and enhance the user experience for supply chain partners.

  • Identifies opportunities to modernize delivery models through automation, standardization, and data-driven decision making.

  • Ensures consistent performance metrics, operational transparency, and continuous improvement across the ambulatory performance delivery function.

Revenue Growth & Contract Performance

  • Identifies and drives revenue-generating opportunities by expanding contract connectivity and increasing contract penetration within existing client accounts.

  • Partners with commercial and supplier teams to align performance delivery initiatives with revenue targets and savings objectives.

  • Develops strategies that maximize client value realization while contributing to overall business growth and profitability.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing team of implementation advisors and operational leaders.

  • Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Builds leadership capability within the team to support organizational growth and future scalability.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree desired; Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare supply chain, consulting, or performance improvement leadership experience required.

  • Healthcare experience supporting both acute and ambulatory settings required.

  • Demonstrated success managing executive-level client relationships.

  • Proven record of driving operational improvement, revenue growth, and organizational change.

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale initiatives, operational transformations, and performance improvement programs.

  • Experience building and developing teams to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.

  • Strong project and program management expertise, including planning, execution, and performance tracking.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex strategies clearly and persuasively.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $156,500.00 to $290,100.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
