ROLE OVERVIEW: (summary of components that make up the job)

The form setter constructs built-in-place or prefabricated wooden and/or metal forms for the construction of concrete sidewalks,

curbs and gutters and other concrete structures.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)



  1. Build and lay out forms as required according to specifications with the ability to make calculations depending on grades.
  2. Saw slumber to blueprint dimensions, using handsaw or power saw, and nails lumber together to make panels.
  3. Erect built-in-place forms or assembles and installs prefabricated forms on construction site according to blueprint specifications, using hand tools, plumb rule, and level.
  4. Insert spreaders and tie rods between opposite faces of form to maintain specified dimensions.
  5. Anchor and brace forms to fixed objects, using nails, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, and timbers.
  6. Clean work site of any tools, debris, and equipment.
  7. Timely and regular attendance is essential.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

1. A valid Driver's License is preferred.

2. Must have basic carpentry skills. Previous construction industry experience preferred.

3. Must be able to read construction plans.

4. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
