Position summary: Responsible for performing all phases of architectural work from conceptual design through construction administration.

Compensation for this position is $90,000 - $115,000, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Perform architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity
  • Perform analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies and limited design layouts
  • Prepare project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data
  • Create reports and specifications
  • Review completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations


Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • 3-5 years of architectural design experience
  • Professional Architect License
  • Proficient with computer-assisted design software such as Revit, SketchUp or AutoCAD
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


Qualifications Preferred



  • LEED AP accreditation preferred
  • Experience in education, transportation and community architecture


Working Conditions

At JMT, we prioritize a healthy work/life balance and offer a flexible hybrid working schedule. The selected candidate is expected to work in a JMT office location at least four days per week or as needed to perform assigned duties. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. However, there may be on-site tasks that will require walking on uneven surfaces and possibly climbing stairs and/or ladders. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
