Description

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist is responsible for supporting the financial health of Modern Aviation by managing customer receivables, ensuring timely collections, maintaining accurate account records, and facilitating the efficient processing of invoices and customer payments. This role partners closely with operational leaders and customers to resolve billing issues, reduce outstanding balances, and ensure the integrity of accounts receivable data across company systems.

Accounts Receivable Management



  • Review and monitor accounts receivable balances to ensure timely collection of outstanding amounts.
  • Generate and distribute customer account statements on a regular basis.
  • Research, reconcile, and resolve customer account discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Contact customers regarding past due balances and coordinate collection efforts.
  • Collaborate with General Managers to review aging reports and develop collection strategies.
  • Process account write-offs in accordance with company policies and procedures.


Billing and Invoice Administration



  • Ensure invoices are accurately submitted through customer portals and billing platforms.
  • Monitor invoice approval status and follow up on invoices that have not been approved or processed.
  • Verify invoices and transactional data successfully synchronize between Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and the accounting system.
  • Identify and resolve billing or system integration issues impacting invoice processing.


Payment Processing and Financial Reconciliation



  • Post customer payments accurately and investigate any payment discrepancies.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable subledger balances with the general ledger.
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for all receivable transactions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities related to accounts receivable as needed.


Collaboration and Continuous Improvement



  • Partner with operations, accounting, and customer contacts to ensure effective resolution of receivable and billing issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounts receivable processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Support departmental initiatives that improve cash collection performance and financial accuracy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • HS diploma or equivalent plus two years of relevant work experience; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
  • Regular use of a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment is required.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing administrative duties.
  • Occasionally required to move throughout the office to access files, equipment, or collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information effectively with customers, employees, and business partners.

Modern Aviation's Pay Range -

$21.00 - $24.00/hr. + bonus + benefits.



The Modern Aviation pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, or other laws.
