Location: Fort Meade, MD Position Summary LAUKOA is seeking a qualified Journeyman Electrician to support facilities operations at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position performs preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, installation, testing, and modification of electrical systems and associated equipment in Government-owned facilities. The selected candidate will ensure electrical systems are maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient operating condition while complying with contract requirements, applicable codes, and established safety procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of commercial electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, branch circuits, panels, breakers, transformers, motors, and associated electrical equipment.
- Install, maintain, and replace electrical wiring, conduit, fixtures, switches, receptacles, and related components.
- Test electrical systems and equipment using appropriate diagnostic and testing instruments.
- Respond to service calls and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, labor, and materials.
- Coordinate with other maintenance personnel to support facility operations and maintenance activities.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other trade-specific equipment safely.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas while complying with all environmental, safety, security, and contract requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a current Journeyman Electrician license recognized by the State of Maryland or a reciprocal jurisdiction acceptable to the State.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing commercial or institutional electrical maintenance and repair.
- Experience maintaining electrical systems in commercial, industrial, institutional, or Government facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of commercial electrical systems, equipment, and electrical distribution.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable industry standards.
- Ability to diagnose electrical system malfunctions and perform effective repairs.
- Basic computer skills sufficient to receive work assignments, enter data, and complete required documentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
Security Requirements
- Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, materials, and equipment consistent with the duties of the position.
- Ability to climb ladders, work from elevated platforms, kneel, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to distinguish colors for identifying electrical wiring and components.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding electrical work for extended periods.
Wage Rate
- Between $68.00- $83.00 per hour (included is $5.09 for Health & Welfare)
