THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a Server System RAS Architect to join our DatacenterSystem Architecture and Engineering team to develop world-class products around EPYC processors.In this role youwill be engaged with key customers and internal architects, field application teams, and internal stakeholders to define server system RAS solutions. This requires technically analyzing, defining outside-in usage cases, and use broad spectrum of technologies to drive a Server System solution spanning Si, platform HW/SW, and usages to deliver the best customer experiences.In this role you will provide a cohesive technical report out on specific server system solutions, publish technical papers on emerging Server System RAS Solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Architect and deploy Server System Inband and Out-of-band RAS solutions using AMD Processors, accelerators, Network Components for High-Performance Computing, Server and Mega data center applications and be in the forefront of system hardware innovation.
  • Lead the End-End execution of RAS features from concept through productization for AMD server products.
  • Closely work with Customer, processor architects, IP and SOC architects, network and IO device architects, application software developers and system software developers, and Business unit to optimize the Server RAS Solutions.
  • Work on research and development of next generation system designs to continually improve the reliability, availability and serviceability of Data Center Solutions.
  • Influence the shaping of future products/solutions by significantly contributing to the system architecture and technology execution throughout the server products.
  • Proven track record of working with leading technology companies to jointly engineer outstanding products based on new SoCs/CPUs/chipsets.
  • Establish credibility with both engineering and leadership counterparts at top technology companies, communicate technical results and positions clearly and accurately, and drive alignment on solutions.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated RAS Expertise through multiple generation of product deployments is required.
  • Demonstrated Server products experience by working on multiple projects from architecture, development, design including memory, I/O, power delivery, power management, boot process, FW and BMC/hardware management through bring-up and validation and supported through the release to production is a plus.
  • Detailed understanding of RAS for server industry standard buses, such as DDR, PCIe, and other high-speed IO protocol is required.
  • Experienceworkingseamlesslyacross engineering disciplines and geographies to deliver excellent results.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with extensiveexperience.
