Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of FMLA and Leave Administration Analyst. This position provides professional administrative services in the areas of FMLA and Leave program management by providing guidance and direction regarding employees' long-term and short-term absences, strategies for monitoring absence and reducing absenteeism. The FMLA Leave Analyst ensures timely management and resolutions of long-term and short-term absences. The position manages Federal Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) Act and Maryland's Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) programs for long term illnesses and other leave administration process. The position ensures actions comply with Federal and State laws, MTA policies, and Collective Bargaining Agreements. This position also provides training in subject matter areas.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in administrative or professional work. One (1) year of FMLA or case management experience which may include any leaves of absence.

**This statement contains a Selective Qualification, which is more focused in scope than the Minimum Qualifications for this classification. Selective Qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or bona-fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skills, or abilities).

Notes:

1. Additional experience as defined above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

2. Additional graduate-level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations, or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for- year basis for the required education and experience.


Licenses & Certifications

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.

The incumbent in this position is not a member of a covered bargaining unit.

The Maryland Department of Transportation is not sponsoring new employees in application of the H-18 Visa at this time due to budgetary constraints.
