This role involves advanced technical responsibilities including sterile and non-sterile compounding, inventory management, diversion monitoring, mail order processing, and medication safety reporting. Duties listed above represent a general scope of responsibilities. Actual tasks may vary depending on the work site (e.g., Retail Pharmacy, Pharmacy Supply, or Carilion Medical Center). We offer a structured pharmacy technician career ladder that recognizes experience and supports longterm career growth. Tier assignment will be determined at the time of hire based on the candidate's experience as a pharmacy technician and experience in relevant practice setting. What We Require: Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of an approved Pharmacy Technician training course is preferred. Successful completion of Pharmacy Service Line competencies within 6 months of hire. Experience: 1 to 2 years of pharmacy experience required. Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professionals required. Pharmacy Technician Certified Board Certification relevant to work area is required within 6 months of hire. Other Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to maintain familiarity with a large number (1000-2000) of medications and focused on attention to detail/accuracy. Must be customer service oriented. Requires knowledge and use of general office equipment and procedures, including computer/keyboard. Must be able to solve simple mathematical and logistical problems in the work environment. Must be able to effectively budget time, work efficiently and accurately, and follow procedures with minimum supervision. Compensation Range: $21.61 - $30.25Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience.
