The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the HCL Value Stream within the Erie Facility, a complex and highly visible operation representing approximately $150M in annual sales, approximately 115 team members, and production across three shifts. This role carries full responsibility for the operational execution and performance of the value stream, with direct accountability for all Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost - SDQC - key performance indicators.

This leader will drive achievement of production objectives through a strong focus on team member safety, product quality, customer delivery, and product cost. The successful candidate will foster an environment of empowerment, collaboration, communication, talent development, and operational consistency while leading a large, multi-shift manufacturing team in a union environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to coordinate priorities across production teams and support functions, and the agility to adapt to complex and evolving production challenges.

This is an ITAR-restricted position that complies with the drug and alcohol testing regulations of the Department of Transportation (DOT) (49 CFR part 40) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) (14 CFR part 120).

Responsibilities

  • Promote a Safety-First workplace, encouraging the identification and closure of opportunities for safety improvements.
  • Provide leadership to front line leaders and production team members, including establishment of clear objectives and expectations, and creating an environment where functional excellence, collaboration and empowerment is embraced.
  • Promote Continuous Improvement Culture through utilization of Parker Lean System (PLS) principles and engagement through Team Improvement Boards (TIB) and High-Performance Teams (HPTs)
  • Responsible for talent development of direct and indirect reports through cross-training and utilization of the Skill Matrix to provide the opportunity to develop cross-functional skills and expertise.
  • Responsible and accountable for team empowerment, engagement, and associated team KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, and cost).
  • Drive and embrace collaboration and partnership with other Value Streams, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Human Resources, Supply Chain and Customer Service, to maintain a continuous improvement (Lean) mindset to achieve Zero Defects through product and process robustness.
  • Resolve escalated manufacturing issues through collaboration and resource prioritization.
  • Adapt and effectively react to customer changing needs and expectations
  • Continuously monitor the capacity and capability of the HCL Value Stream through utilization of capacity planning tools as well as monthly performance reviews to identify areas of risk and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Union Leadership to operate collaboratively within the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Work Experience

Required

  • Minimum 8 years of manufacturing experience; 6 years in roles leading teams and/or complex projects, preferably within operations

Education

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree with a strong mechanical aptitude and process knowledge

Preferred

  • Master's Degree or a Degree in a Technical discipline is a plus

  • General knowledge of Rubber-to-Metal Manufacturing Processes (i.e. Elastomer Processes, Bonding Processes, Assembly etc.).
