We are looking for a leader who can contribute to concept of operations development, mission solution design, and strategic analysis for spacecraft programs supporting National Security Space. This includes work spanning space domain awareness, space resiliency, mission autonomy, structures, sensors, and nextgeneration space systems.
Position Summary:


Redwire is seeking a Knowledge Manager to strengthen and mature the enterprise knowledge architecture that supports operational excellence across the organization.
This role serves as the Knowledge Manager, acting in an Enterprise-wide position to lead the structured organization of information, particularly documentation, to ensure its consistency and alignment across business units regarding how information is categorized, maintained and accessed.
Standard enterprise taxonomy, classification and accessibility of content is vital in large and growing companies and acting as a knowledge owner this role will partner with the information technology organization to identify inconsistencies, recommend practical improvements, enhance cohesion across existing systems and repositories, and facilitate the development of standard enterprise-wide platforms. The Knowledge Manager will play a central role in creating and reinforcing documentation standards, improving discoverability, and promoting disciplined information and knowledge management practices across the enterprise. This position requires a hands-on individual and natural collaborator who understands the complexity of running a large portfolio of projects within a space and defense company or similar project-based industry. An understanding of functional groups, operational processes and document types managed by an industrial company, along with working knowledge of enterprise class applications that support such organizations (e.g. ERP, HCM, EPM, CRM etc.) and the master data management considerations that go along with them is beneficial.


This is an onsite position based in Chantilly, Virginia.
Key Responsibilities


  • Act as a knowledge owner and partner with IT and functional leaders to assess enterprise taxonomy, content classification and metadata tagging practices - recommending improvements for standardization, scalability, governance and user experience.
  • Support enterprise data labeling and metadata consistency efforts by reinforcing established standards and promoting disciplined classification and Master Data Management practices.
  • Proactively drive strategic enhancement and optimization of technical architectures, including refining site structure, document libraries, navigation and search capabilities.
  • Strengthen enterprise documentation practices by improving organization, version control, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Collaborate with the business leaders to refine the corporate policy and procedure framework, improving clarity, accessibility, and usability.
  • Reduce duplication and fragmentation by establishing and maintaining authoritative content repositories.
  • Partner with subject matter experts across functional areas to organize and structure critical documentation.
  • Promote adoption of standardized documentation and information management practices across business segments.


Ideal Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in information management, Data Management, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in knowledge management, information architecture, enterprise documentation governance, or content management.
  • Demonstrated experience improving document management applications, including SharePoint structure and usability.
  • Experience collaborating with IT on taxonomy alignment, metadata practices, or enterprise information architecture initiatives.
  • Experience working within structured governance environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive standardization across distributed or multi-site organizations.
  • Strong understanding of document lifecycle management and access controls.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, engineering, or other regulated industries preferred.
  • General understanding of the Knowledge Management discipline.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required.

Pay Range

$98,000 - $119,845

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
